The problem: The entire room is beige and full of very large pieces. The result is a flat room that feels heavy. In addition, the coffee table and entertainment center were so large that it was hard to get in and out of the sofa. The client confessed that when she threw parties no one sat down for fear of being stuck. That's not good.

The solution: 2 sofas that provide ample seating while a smaller coffee table and a narrower entertainment center provide the space guests need to feel comfortable.

This old secretary desk was found rotting in the clients garage. When interrogated by Glamour Nest the client revealed that this piece was in fact made by her grandfather....what?!! We had to put that piece of history in the house. With a little TLC and paired with a funky Lucite chair (again another family heirloom). This piece has meaning and looks great!

These photos of the kiddos are amazing but we wanted to add something a little more sculptural to the room....Glamour Nest opted to move them to a more prominent entry wall....don't worry folks they were not gotten rid of!! We are not crazy! They get a lot more viewing action in their new spot.

The art on the wall consist of Vintage Trolley signs and an old French botany chart.

Cowhide rugs are easy to clean - just throw them in the washing machine or in the bathtub with some baby shampoo and hang dry....The vintage chairs were upholstered in Trina Turk indoor/outdoor fabric to insure their longevity.

The mirror they owned was painted to keep the entry bright and airy and the bright pottery was added to pull the colors in the living room to the front of the house.
