The Goal: To make the space feel like a fresh and inviting boutique hotel. After having 2 kiddos this couple needed a romanatic getaway right at home.
The Challenge: Of course the space needed to be functional with lots of storage for clothing and electronics, but with not a lot of square footage having function comfort AND beauty can be difficult to achieve...

This is a sad bedroom! Filled with nothing and everything all at the same time. Not enough storage for "stuff" so stuff ends up out creating clutter. Also, there is absolutely no place to relax?!

We painted the walls a deeper blue grey to create a calming cozy feeling. The bed was custom made using commercial grade faux linen, a very kid-friendly option that is stain resistant and incredible easy to clean.

This was a room of custom pieces....the night stands were custom built using reclaimed wood. Their styling was clean and elegant while the reclaimed wood gave them an air of masculinity and earthiness.

These lamps were perfect! The crystal gave the them a classic elegant vibe while the distressed nickel gave them a more down to earth contemporary look. They are elegant without looking too feminine.

Since we were going for a "boutique hotel" feel we choose hotel style bedding. It's clean, simple, and never goes out of style. For a pop of something fun we added a throw pillow made of Kelly Wearstler fabric.
Note: When the clients have more money to play with - more art and a taller skinnier potted plant for the corner is on the list of purchases.

They needed storage! The place was so full of clutter that it was hard to relax.....

Again, this dresser was custom made using reclaimed wood. It includes 9 large drawers for clothing storage and 3 shallow drawers for electronics such the DVD player. The top 3 shallow drawer fronts actually pull down so when the TV and/or DVD player are in use they can be reached with the remote. When not in use simply lift up the drawer fronts.

This chair by Cisco Brothers is gorgeous and sustainable.
The little table is a vintage candle stand from the 1930's we had refinished in a gray stain to pull the grey from the above piece of art and have a subtle contrast from the 2 large brown pieces surrounding it.
The art is a vintage newspaper cover from the weekly French newspaper L'Illustration covering the building of The Statue of Liberty. This was found at fantastic a periodical shop in Paris.

This bathroom has zero storage. While the pedestal sinks are cute and fun they had to go! They didn't serve the couple functionally. In addition, the Shabby Chic look didn't reflect the clients style so this space didn't serve the couple emotionally.

An easy fix that provided more storage but still supported the over all architecture and style of the house was a ready-made double vanity from Restoration Hardware.
We painted the walls a soft gray, stained the current mirror a dark chocolate brown, and added new hardware, lighting, and accessories.
